DODA: Army conducted Pir Panjal Kabaddi League under Operation Sadbhavana at Sports Stadium, Doda.
The opening ceremony of the Pir Panjal Kabaddi League held on January 14, 2024 at Indoor Sports Stadium, Doda which was a spectacular affair, with youth and parents showing enthusiasm. Local schools, colleges and youth groups have enthusiastically joined the initiative, forming a total of 06 teams that will compete over the course of the tournament. This event is expected to not only showcase exceptional kabaddi talent but also highlight the spirit of unity and harmony. The tournament showcases not only their sporting talents but also instilled a sense of camaraderie and unity that will be cherished for years to come. A total of 100 civilians attended the event. The participating youth, along with families, the local community and supporters extend their heartfelt thanks to Indian Army for creating an environment where their talent and potential could flourish.
The tournament, in line with Khelo India initiative, is aimed at highlighting and promoting Pir Panjal Kabaddi as a sport other than cricket and volleyball which is quite popular amongst the youth.
