RAJOURI: Army is organising a tour for youth of remote and far flung areas of Rajouri District from August 2 to 12, 2017 to the industrial cities of Ludhiana and Chandigarh. In all 10 boys and 10 girls selected from various Tehsils of Rajouri District who had earlier attended various vocational and skill development courses conducted by army form part of this tour.
This tour is planned to give the young practical exposure to the industrial development taking place outside the State of J and K. They will be taken to the industrial houses like Hero Cycles, Monte Carlo (Garments), Nahar Spinning Mills, Verka Milk Plant etc to expose them to an environment of industrial production and make them connect with what they learned during their skill development training. The exposure will enhance their understanding of the industrial process of production, quality control, Research and Development etc and also will assist them in choosing a career of their choice in these areas.
During their stay at Chandigarh the participants will be meeting V.P Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab, Milka Singh, the renowned Olympian athlete, senior army officers and other prominent personalities to inspire them to learn from the hard work and dedication of these personalities and emulate them in their lives.
The tour was flagged off on Wednesday from Manjakot by the Commander of Rashtriya Rifle Sector. Prominent military and civil dignitaries were also present during the event.
