To express resentment over the post, members of a particular community including large number of women, held a protest in Bhadarwah. Looking at the gravity of situation, huge deployment of forces including Police, CRPF etc was made by the administration and several senior officers including SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, ADC Bhadarwah Dil Mir Choudhary, SDPO Meer Gafoor, SHO Jatinder Singh and Tehsildar Shoket Hayat Mattoo, visited the spot and tried their level best to pacify the protesters. Moreover, as per SSP Doda, FIR No 93/2022 under sections 295 A, 506 of IPC has been registered in this regard.
Later, members of other community also came out of their houses and started staging protest, after which ADM Bhadarwah imposed curfew in Bhadarwah along with section 144 CrPC, to avoid any law & order problem. As per police, the situation in town is quite tense but under control. “Anyone who takes law into his hands will not be spared,” said an official of Police Media Centre Jammu. Moreover, Section 144 of CrPC has also been imposed in Sub Division Gandoh with immediate effect. “I appeal to all media fraternity not to post any objectionable material in the social media, as it can damage communal fabric. Also if someone has posted some objectionable thing, it is requested to delete it. Your insensible post can cost much to the society. If any material found irrational and blasphemous may please be brought into the notice of administration so that proper and legal action under rules can be initiated,” urged DM Doda.
Besides Baderwah, curfew has also been imposed in the Ramban district. The Deputy Commissioner Ramban said that Section 144 Code of Criminal Procedure has been imposed in the district for safety and security of the general public.
