JAMMU: A magnificent Table-Tennis Tournament was organized at Army Public School (APS) Jammu Cantt from October 29 to November 1, 2022 with fervour.
The tournament had two categories Under-17 and Under-14. In under-17 there were 18 teams of boys and 13 teams of girls, whereas in under-14 there were 5 teams of boys and 3 teams of girls.
The mega event commenced on October 29 with the welcome by Divya Sinha and Suryansh Chib from class X.
The Principal, Puneet Kaur in her welcome speech encouraged the participants that such activities are platform to show case the talent and efforts to display team-spirit and to perform well in the competitions.
A oath was administered by the Sports Captain Shialja Singh and the Principal declared the event opened.
During the three day tournament, the students participated with full enthusiasm and there was skill and talent in all of the players. The collective energy of the participants and the teachers added up to an energetic and fun filled celebrations.
The concluding day of the event started with the welcome of the Chief Guest Rajesh Rathore, Principal JK Public School, Kunjwani and President, Jammu Sahodya, followed by the cultural programme presented by the students from classes 6 to 8 which mesmerized the audience.
The Principal, Puneet Kaur addressed the gathering and praised the efforts of all the players followed by the most stimulating moment of the day that was giving recognition to the winners for their achievement along with the admiration and appraisal of everyone.
In U-14 (Girls) category, Army Public School Jammu Cantt clinched 1st position. 2nd position was bagged by St. Peter’s School and 3rd position was taken by Heritage School.
In U-14 (Boys) category, Heritage School bagged 1st position. 2nd position was taken by Army Public School Miran Sahib and 3rd position was bagged by SAI International School, Hiranagar.
In U-17 (Girls) category, Army Public School Kaluchak secured 1st position. 2nd position was bagged by Army Public School Nagrota and 3rd position was taken by Army Public School Ratnuchak.
In U-17 (Boys) category, KC international School bagged 1st position. 2nd position was taken by Heritage School and 3rd position was bagged by Army Public School Jammu Cantt.
After prize distribution ceremony the chief guest, Rajesh Rathore addressed the participants and motivated them to participate in many more activities and showcase their talent.
He also shared his own experiences and encouraged them to join Defence services. The chief guest declared the event closed and was presented a token of gratitude by the host school.
The vote of thanks was presented by Manmeet Kour, Vice Principal APS Jammu Cantt.
