JAMMU: Army Public School (APS) Damana hosted Inter Army Public School Cluster-I Badminton Tournament (Boys & Girls) from July 21 to 23, 2022 in the premises of Badminton Court, Police Ground Jammu.
Eight Army Public Schools namely APS Damana, APS Kaluchak, APS Sunjuwan, APS Ratnuchak, APS Samba, APS BD Bari, APS Miran Sahib, APS Jammu Cantt participated in the tournament.
The opening ceremony was graced by Col Sagar D Rai, SO APS Damana, who encouraged the students to keep the spirit high no matter one wins or lose.
The competition was declared open by Pushpinder Kaur, Principal APS Damana.
The eight teams competed with each other in two pools. After a series of matches , the semi-final match was played between APS Jammu Cant and APS B D Bariwhereas APS Kaluchak competed with APS Sunjuwan. During the match, the players displayed their spectacular game. The final match was played between APS Kaluchak and APS Jammu Cantt.
Surpassing the challenges, APS Kaluchak clinched the Winner’s Trophy whereas APS Jammu Cantt was adjudged as Runner-up.
The event was declared close by the Chief Guest, Col Naveen Sharma, Deputy Commander, 19 Inf Bde.
During the Prize Distribution, the winner and runner-up teams were felicitated by the Chief Guest amidst the presence of Col Sagar D Rai, SO School, Principal APS Damana, escorting teachers and students.
