UDHAMPUR: APS Club Udhampur and Charai Club Udhampur lifted respective football and kabaddi title in the Range Olympics-2017 being organised by Udhampur-Reasi Range under Civic Action Programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police at SMVD Sports Stadium, Katra.
Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda was the Chief Guest, who kick started the final match of the football played between DFA Football Club Udhampur and APS Club Udhampur.
The toss was won by APS Club Udhampur and they opted to start. In a close fight, the APS Club won the match by four goals to two (4-2).
Varinder Sharma, Dy. Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range, Dr. Shalendra Mishra, SSP Udhampur, M.K Kumar, Additional CEO SMVDSB, Tahir Bhat SSP Reasi, Neelam Khajuria, SDM Katra, Sameer Kotwal, Additional SP Katra, Dr. Ashok Sharma and SDPO Katra were also present on the occasion. DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range gave green signal to start the final of kabbadi match held between Charyai Club Udhampur and Chenani Club Udhampur which was won by Charyai Club Udhampur by 15 (51-36 points) points.
At the end of the matches, Varinder Sharma, Dy. Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range gave away the medals to the winners and runners up teams of bothy the events.
Both matches were officiated by the officials of the Department of Youth Services and Sports Udhampur.
