JAMMU: ABVP activists on Saturday held a strong protest against JU authorities for disallowing the organisation to hold a blood donation camp to mark the Trimurti Balidan Diwas on Jammu University Campus.
The protest was led by ABVP State Secretary Varsha Jandial. She asserted that the organisation will not allow anti-national activities on the campus and strongly objected to the denial of VC JU over holding of a blood donation camp by ABVP activists.
However, police detained several ABVP activists since they were asking to meet Vice President of India A.H Ansari to submit a memorandum of demands.
Earlier, ABVP protest march commenced from Bikram Chowk towards JU campus.
About 13 activists including State Secretary ABVP Varsha Jandial, State Joint Secretary Abhinav Pandotra, Ganesh Kunde, State Office Secretary Avinash Sethi, Jammu Mahanagar Secretary Naina Dogra, Jammu Mahanagar Joint Secretary Deepak Gupta, Jammu Mahanagar Girls’ Incharge Bhavana Bharti, Jammu Mahanagar Pramukh Jyoti Bougal, JU Convenor Pulkit, Political Science Incharge Shubham, Ankush, Pardeep, Piyush were detained by the police. Later in the evening, all the activists were released.
