ANTF apprehends two Inter-State Drug Peddlers

JAMMU: To wipe put the menace of drug abuse from society under the program Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), a specialized unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police, apprehended two inter-state drug peddlers and recovered about 68 Bottles of 0-Qurex-T Codeine based Cough Syrup from their possession. On a specific input, ANTF Jammu team apprehended Irfan Latief Kohli, son of late Mohd Latief Kohli, resident of Azad Colony, Sunjwan, Jammu and Naveen Gupta, son of late Ravinder Chopra, resident of 22-P, Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar Jammu. The team recovered 68 Bottles of 0-Qurex-T Codeine based Cough Syrup from their possession in commercial quantity at Kalu Chak near Purmandal Morh, NH-44.
As per ATNF official, both accused persons were travelling in a Car bearing registration No JKO2BE-2872 and trap was laid by Insp. Sanjeet Sharma along with team of ANTF Jammu under the guidance of Shamsher Singh, DySP, SHO ANTF Jammu and overall supervision of SSP ANTF J&K, Raj Kumar.
In this regard, case FIR No. 01/24 under Sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at P/S ANTF Jammu and investigation set into motion, official said. ANTF Jammu has appealed the general public particularly the youth to stay away from drugs and to share any kind of information regard drug related activities with ANTF so that strict legal actions are taken against such drug dealers. The identity of the informant as well as whistleblower shall be kept confidential, official said.
