ANTF apprehends two inter-state drug peddlers

JAMMU: To wipe put the menace of drug abuse from society under the program Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), a specialized unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police, apprehended two inter-state drug peddlers and recovered about 136 bottles of Novitas Cough Syrup and 100 tablets of Etizolam from their possession.
On a specific input, ANTF Jammu team apprehended Naresh Kumar Verma, son of Gian Chand Verma, resident of Hind Nagar, Delhi and Balwinder Chug, son of Gurbaksh Chug, resident of Janta Colony, New Delhi.
The team recovered about 136 Bottles of Novitas Cough Syrup and 100 Tablets of Etizolam from their possession in commercial quantity Near Railway Station Trikuta Nagar Jammu.
As per ATNF official, both accused persons were sitting in a Wagon R Car bearing registration No. DL2CAM-1558 and trap was laid by Insp. Ankush Chib along with team of ANTF Jammu under the guidance of Shamsher Singh, DySP, ANTF Jammu and overall supervision of SSP ANTF J&K, Raj Kumar.
In this regard, case FIR No. 15/23 under Sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at P/S ANTF Jammu and investigation set into motion, official said.
ANTF Jammu has appealed the general public particularly the youth to stay away from drugs and to share any kind of information regard drug related activities with ANTF so that strict legal actions are taken against such drug dealers.
The identity of the informant as well as whistleblower shall be kept confidential, official said.
