SRINAGAR: Minister for Youth Services Sports and Technical Education Molvi Imran Raza Ansari on Wednesday complimented Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council’s State Cricket Academy for organising State wide T-20 tournament.
State Cricket Academy T-20 Championship in its second week has been quite a hit among the cricketers with sixteen teams from each district taking part in the knockout tourney and as many as 160 teams participating in the event. The event is all set to reach Jammu next week with registration process nearing completion.
“It is such a great initiative from State Cricket Academy. I compliment the organisers for organising such a great event. It is heartening to see cricketers taking part in the tournament with such a great enthusiasm,” Ansari said.
He said the purpose of the tournament is to take the sport to the areas which haven’t been tapped yet and create an environment of competitive cricket as most of the major teams and clubs are participating in the event.
Moreover the tournament has also provided young cricketers with a unique opportunity to rub shoulder with senior cricketers of the State which will help in their growth as professional players.
“We want to provide every talented cricketer with a platform to excel in the cricket field. State Cricket Academy T-20 Championship is a strong part of that effort,” he said while urging players to make use of the opportunity and not to hesitate to express themselves in the sport of their interest.
