Another blackmarketing attempt foiled; driver arrested with 2,600 litres of K.oil

DODA: Police have arrested the driver of an oil tanker and seized 2,600 litres of PDS kerosene at Kahara area under the jurisdiction of Gandoh Police Station in Bhalessa of Distt Doda in the wee hours today.
Police seized 2,600 litres of K.oil during a routine checking by the patrolling party of Police Post Kahara led by SHO Gandoh Tariq Naik under the supervision of ASP Bhadarwah Sargun Shukla and SDPO Gandoh B.K Ganjoo.
According to police sources, PDS kerosene oil which was meant for the ration card holders of Changa, Gawari, Bhat Market and Gandoh was reportedly being smuggled to Thathri for black marketing at exorbitant rates.
“During routine checking, our patrolling party from Police Post Kahara intercepted with an oil tanker and found that instead of unloading the kerosene in Bhalessa area, the same is being smuggled back to Thathri for black marketing,” said SHO Gandoh Tariq Naik.
” We seized the oil tanker bearing registration number JK02S-2590 with 2,600 litres of PDS kerosene being transported illegally and arrested the driver,” SHO Gandoh added.
A case with FIR No 38/2016 under section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered at Police Station Gandoh and the accused was arrested.
The accused driver has been identified as Sushil Kumar son of Gian Chand, resident of Tehsil Tikkri in District Udhampur.
