POONCH: Posing a big question mark on the efficacy of police functioning in the State, yet another undertrial on Friday gave a slip to police personnel in Mendhar Court and managed to escape. The incident is second in last one week. Earlier this week, in a similar incident, a drug peddler had escaped from the custody of Rajouri Police leading to suspension of three cops.
According to report, a notorious burglar Tahir Hussain Shah, who is booked in several cases, was on Friday produced in Mendhar Court for hearing in a burglary case. During hearing, he gave slip to cops and escaped. “Our teams are searching him,” SSP Poonch J.S Johar told media persons here.
Taking serious note of the security lapse, SSP suspended ASI Nazir Ahmad, Head Constable Sanjay Kumar, Head Constable Bashir Ahmad , Sepoy (s) Mohammad Salim and Mohammad Aliyas.
