JAMMU: Guided by Ashfaq’s 31 runs Automobile Engineering Department defeated Computer Engineering Department by 69 runs in the final of cricket tournament during the Annual Sports Week, organised by Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, here on Saturday.
Batting first Automobile Engineering Department scored 142 run for the loss of nine wickets in 15 overs, in reply Computer Engineering Department could not chase the target and was bundled out for 73 runs.
In volleyball final, Architecture Engineering Department defeated Mechanical Engineering Department by 2-1 (25-19, 25-22, 16-14).
Asad Sharma from Electrical Engineering Department beat Vansh Mahajan from Mechanical Engineering Department by 2-0 in Table tennis final.
In Badminton final, Mohit Sharma of Electrical Engineering Department won Badminton final defeating Vishal Verma from Civil Engineering Department by 2-0 (21-12, 21-19).
In carom, Kartik and Akash of Automobile Engineering lost to Tariq and Mukesh of Civil Engineering Department by 3-0.
The prizes and trophies to winner and runner up teams will be awarded on the Annual Day of the College to be held on 2nd December, 2014.
The sports week was organized under the patronage of Principal of the College, Arun Bangotra, Chairman of Sports Week, Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chairman, K.S Bhatia and Sports Secretary, Rakesh Kakkar.
