Annual Mahayajnya of Jagadguru Bhagwan Gopinathji;Festivities symbol of JK’s rich cultural bonding, age-old amity: Prof Mattoo

JAMMU/SRINAGAR: The annual Mahayajnya of Jagadguru Bhagavaan Gopinathji was performed across the country and abroad on Monday with utmost devotion, gaiety and fervour for the universal peace and brotherhood.
At Jammu, it was performed at Bhagavaan Gopinathji Ashram at Udheywala, Bohri. The Mahayajnya started at 9:00 PM on Sunday and culminated with Puran-Aahuti at 1:00 PM on Monday, followed by Prasad Vitran. Thousands of devotees thronged the Ashram from early morning to pay their obeisance at the Lotus feet of Guru Maharaj.
Elaborate arrangements were made by the trust in advance for smooth and successful conduct of the Mahayajnya.
Hundreds of devotees including children, young and old rendered self-less services at various counters. Bhajan and Kirtan continued for the whole day creating an atmosphere of bliss and Ananda. The Samohik evening Aarti marked the culmination of the days proceedings.
On the occasion, Bhagawaan Gopinathji Trust released a CD titled ‘Aalav’ containing some of the old traditional devotional songs selected from ‘Sharika Lahiri’ sung by a noted Singer, Iqbal Koul to preserve our rich old culture and heritage.
The trust also released a book titled ‘Guru Padan Tal’ which is a collection of devotional poems composed by Dr. Roshan Saraf.
SRINAGAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister, Prof Amitabh Mattoo on Monday visited Bhagwan Gopinathji Ashram at Kharyar, Habba Kadal on the eve of Annual Mahayajnya of Jagadguru Bhagwan Gopinathji.
While interacting with the devotees at the temple, Mattoo said such festivities teach us values of piety, devotion and strengthen the bonds of amity, brotherhood between various communities.
“This auspicious occasion would remain an everlasting identity of cultural binding, age-old amity, brotherhood and togetherness of the State,” he said.
PRO to Chief Minister, M.K Dhar, Retd Justice, M.L Koul, President, Bhagwan Gopinath Trust, Jaya Patwari, besides hundreds of devotees were also present on the occasion.
