JAMMU: JK Public School, Kunjwani conducted its annual Inter–House Swimming Competition in the school premises.
Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Kiran Wattal was the Chief Guest. The function commenced with a welcome song by the school choir followed by the ‘Pooja’ of the pool.
The Chief Guest declared the meet open with the release of balloons carrying a message of eco-friendly Diwali – ‘Say No to Crackers’.
The Principal, S.K Singh, formally welcomed the gathering and emphasised that the hard work will help everyone become a better human being.
The highlights of the function were the march past, a mesmerising Kashmiri, Aquatic and Punjabi dance to foot tapping music and the presentation of patriotic songs by the school choir.
The little ones of Toddlers’ World took a rally with an inspiring message of ‘Say No to Crackers this Diwali.’
The synchronised swimming events by both boys and girls drew rapturous applause from the audience. The young cheerleaders kept the spirit of the event soaring high.
The Chief Guest in his speech congratulated the winners and appreciated the School Management for their outstanding role in extracurricular activities and for providing such a platform for the students to showcase their talents.
He awarded the achievers with medals. The School Management Committee handed the overall trophy to Radha Krishnan House which was declared the winner. The best swimmer award male was claimed by Sarandeep Singh. The best swimmer award female was bagged by Barbie Singh and Annanya Thappa.
The Chairman of the School, Raj Daluja presented a memento to the Chief Guest. The Vice Principal, Rajesh Gandral presented the vote of thanks. The annual aquatic meet thus signaled the culmination of swimming activity for the current academic session.
