Anganwari workers protest for hike in honourarium

STATE TIMES NEWS
SAMBA: The Anganwari workers and helpers on Tuesday organised a massive protest against the State Government in support their demands at Vijaypur in district Samba.
They raised slogans against the State Government and alleged that the State Government failed in redress their demands which include enhancement of honorarium of Anganwari workers and helpers at par with the States of Haryana, Punjab and Delhi where per month honorarium given to a worker is Rs 10,000.
They warned to intensify the agitation in case the demands were not conceded immediately by the government. They said that the State Government is utilising the services of Anganwari workers and helpers in over a dozen departments and for various schemes and projects but it is unfortunate that the government never bothered to improve their economic condition and the honorarium of Anganwari workers and helpers has not been enhanced for the last 10 years.
Veena Devi, Reema Devi, Anju Bala, Rajni Devi and Sarishta Devi were also present in the protest.
