Aneesha, Adhiraj excel in IGFG Online Shooting

JAMMU: Aneesha Sharma and Adhiraj Singh Charak, ace shooters from General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club Samba, excelled in the 3rd Inter Gun For Glory (IGFG) Online Shooting Championship held recently.


Both Aneesha and Adhiraj, who are currently a part of Project Leap, an Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) initiative of Gagan Narang Sports Promotion Foundation, won gold and bronze medal respectively.

While promising Aneesha took part in the Air Rifle Women (Paper Target), young Adhiraj contested in Air Rifle Men (Paper Target) category.
“Gun for Glory (GFG) is a shooting academy which was started by Padmashri Gagan Narang and Pawan Singh to promote shooting as a sport. Due to the ongoing pandemic, GFG conducted online competition for the shooters of GFG academy and shooters from Project Leap,” informed Chairman of the General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club, Bari Brahmana in Samba, Samardev Singh.
There were a total of 120 participants in both boys and girls groups, who contested in four categories of Air Rifle Men (Paper Target Shooters), Air Rifle Women (Paper Target Shooters), Air Rifle Men (Electronic Target Shooters) and Air Rifle Women (Electronic Target Shooters).
“Aneesha Sharma competed against a total of 13 shooters in her category whereas, Adhiraj Singh Charak had to undergo tough contest against a total of 25 shooters in his category,” disclosed Samardev Singh.
