Ananaya, Manya fashion J&K’s emphatic victory over Manipur

BCCI’s U-19 Women’s T20 Trophy

NADIAD: Skipper and bowling all-rounder, Ananaya Sharma and promising batting all-rounder Manya Banotra powered Jammu and Kashmir to a resounding 8-wicket victory over Manipur in the ongoing BCCI’s U-19 Women’s T20 Trophy at Gokul Bhai Soma Bhai Patel Stadium, here on Sunday.
Chasing a modest total of 85 runs, J&K rode on a brilliant innings of unbeaten 34 runs by Manya Banotra and surpassed it in 15.2 overs, losing 2 wickets in the process, thus won by 8 wickets. Manya scored 34 off 37 balls, studded with 5 boundaries while Ananaya Sharma remained unconquered on 10 runs off 11 balls with one boundary. Openers Afreen (17) and Shambhavi (9) also contributed to the team’s success.
Earlier, batting first, Manipur managed to score a modest total of 84 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Taniya Ninghoujam top scored with 34 runs off 50 balls, studded with 5 boundaries, while L Prena and Teresa contributed 18 runs each.
For J&K, skipper Ananaya Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 3 wickets by conceding just 4 runs in her 4 overs, while Ananya Dogra and Tehseena Nisar claimed one wicket each.
The Sub Committee Members of JKCA including Brig Anil Gupta, Member-Administration JKCA; Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations JKCA and Sunil Sethi, Member Legal Affairs JKCA congratulated the team for this big win.
The Jammu and Kashmir team is being accompanied by Ravi Dogra and Neha Slathia as the Managers; Huwaid Hamid and Jyoti Bala as the Coaches; Rohit Rana as the Trainer; Sheikh Suhail as Video Analyst and Rashmi Satolia as the Team Physio.
