Amitabh Bachchan pays tribute to director-friend Ravi Chopra

Kolkata, Nov 13 (PTI) Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has paid tribute to his filmmaker friend Ravi Chopra, who passed away following a lung ailment.

Chopra, who was admitted to the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai as he was not keeping well for some time, died on Wednesday at the age of 68.

The filmmaker directed Bachchan in family saga ‘Baghban’ and produced ‘Bhoothnath’ and ‘Bhoothnath Returns’ with the 72-year-old actor playing the friendly ghost in the latter two.

Bachchan, who is currently shooting for director Shoojit Circar’s ‘Piku’ here, was informed by son Abhishek of Chopra’s demise. He took to his blog to express his grief.

“Ravi Chopra, my dear friend and director and producer passed away suddenly today…

“Filled with grief and sorrow, and unable to find words that could possibly describe what I go through, it is difficult to imagine those days spent together… What does one write on such occasions. Silence is the best condolence…

My love,” he posted.
