JAMMU: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri on Tuesday appealed to the Chief Minister to bring about required amendment in SRO 64 and take decision in the first cabinet meeting is being scheduled in summer capital of the State to pave way for regularization of 61,000 daily rated workers deployed in various departments of the State Government.
Talking to media persons here, Shastri pointed out that these daily rated workers facing serious financial hardship due to inflation and price hike as their services have not been regularized for the last 19 to 24 years nor they are getting salary in time stated that about 61,000 families of these workers are involved forming parts of state electorate and these voters are likely to play major role in the coming civic elections added that forthcoming civic election will be acid test for the PDD/BJP led coalition Govt. and its acclaimed people friendly policies.
Stressing on the need for early creations of separate head in all concerned departments and budgetary allocations made separately so that till their regularization, these workers are able to get their monthly wages regularly and first day of every month.
Emphasizing for immediate release of 6% DA due from January last and 5th installment of 6th Pay Commission, Shastri hoped that decision would be taken by the State Govt. at the earliest.
Others demands highlighted on the occasion included removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre of the State Govt. in SRO 93, enhancing medical allowance to rupee one thousand per month, merging 50% DA into basic pay/ pension, increasing monthly salary of daily rated workers to rupee ten thousand per month and strictly enforcement of CP Fund deduction scheme in all departments etc.
Others present were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Pardeep Kumar and Jai Paul Sharma.
