JAMMU: The volunteers of All Migrant Employees Association of Kashmir (AMEAK), who are on a sit in Dharna for the past 102 days seeking fool-proof security arrangements for them in Kashmir and release of salaries, on Wednesday began indefinite symbolic chain hunger strike in support of their demands at Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioners office in Jammu.
Today’s symbolic hunger strike was attended by many community leaders including Dr. TK Bhat Gen Secy ASKPC, MK Yogi President NC Minority Cell, Prof GK Muju, journalist and social activist, Sundari Lal Koul, President Relief Holders Association, Som Nath Saraf, Vice President Kapal Mochan Trust, Vinod Pandit, Chairman APMCC, King C Bharati senior journalist and National Spokesperson APMCC, S Surinder Singh Bali, well known social activist, Rubon Saproo, President AMEAK, Rakesh Pandita, Kamal Pandita, Ajay Bhat, Rajinderji etc. The volunteers who sat on the first day of chain hunger strike include Vinod Tikoo, Sunny Raina, Ranjan Jyotishi, Sarita, Sureeta and Suneeta.
The NC minority Cell president MK Yogi while extending his full support ridiculed the government for harassing KP employees after facing heat in Kashmir while Dr TK Bhat of ASKPC said that community leadership will take the case to broader level to expose the misdeeds of the government.
