Amarnath Yatra: IGP reviews security

SAMBA: Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Danesh Rana reviewed security arrangements in view of forthcoming Amarnath Yatra-2016. IGP Jammu Zone, accompanied by SSP Kathua Neeva Jain and SSP Samba Joginder Singh and other supervisory officer of the district paid a visit to District Kathua and Samba to review the security arrangements made by the district SSsP concerned in connection with forthcoming Amarnath Yatra-2016. Keeping in view the present security scenario and inputs received from various agencies, IGP Jammu Zone personally reviewed the police/security arrangements made at Reception Centre Lakhanpur, and at sites where Langars have been established at different location at Narsingh Temple Ghagwal, Nonatha Ashram Ghagwal, Chichi Mata Temple Samba and Tarore etc. During the visit, IGP Jammu inspected two Langars in Kathua District and nine Langars in Samba District. He also interacted with the Yatris at Lakhanpur, who have already started pouring in. He welcomed them and wished them for safe and successful Yatra. He stressed upon the supervisory officers and manpower of CAPF/police deployed for the purpose at various locations to maintain utmost alertness round the clock to foil the nefarious designs of ANEs and their mentors from across the IB so that Yatris feel secured during 48 days Amarnath Yatra-2016. IGP J and K also stressed upon the District SSsP Samba, Kathua and Jammu to lay joint Nakas/patrolling on all the infiltration routes. Night patrolling on National Highway be conducted and a close liaison be maintained with all forces deployed in their respective areas.
