RAJOURI: Ajmer 7 Stars clinched the Kabaddi title of the ongoing Rajouri Premier League, organised by the J&K Sports Council at different venues, here on Thursday.
In the last league match of the six-team event, Ajmer 7 Stars defeated Palma Club by a margin of 25 points. It was for the first time that any Kabaddi event took place on mats. However, the organisers could not organise the competition indoor and had to set up the Kabaddi arena on Basketball court of the Sports Stadium.
In the meantime, Nowshera Club won the scheduled football match outplaying Thanamandi Club 3-1.
Meanwhile, Rajouri Red emerged Hockey champion defeating Rajouri Blue by four goals to one. Now, Rajouri Red shall represent the district in divisional level league.
In today’s Kabaddi league decider, Additional SP Rajouri, Layaqat Ali was Chief Guest while district officer of the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Yousuf Lone.
The Rajouri District Premier League is being conducted under the supervision of organising secretary and Manager Sports Stadium, senior Volleyball coach, Bashir Ahmed.
