AJCSF seeks permanent solution for Kashmir imbroglio

JAMMU: All Jammu Civil Society Forum (AJCSF) planned to strengthen ties with the civil societies in the Valley for establishment of peace in the Valley.
“We will visit to Srinagar soon and work jointly with the civil societies for establishment of peace and mitigate the sufferings of the people particularly youth in the Valley,” Convener AJCSF Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, told reporters here on Thursday.
“Forum members met Prime Minister, Home Minister and Minister for Information and Broadcasting and submitted memorandums to them highlighting the issues of Jammu and Kashmir State,” he said.
Forum members projected the issue of filing of Income Tax returns to the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and demanded to extend the date of filling the same to 31st December, 2016.
Other issues including autonomous regional councils for all the three regions, Duggar Channel to counter negative propaganda by Pakistan, construction of community halls for border migrants along the national highway from Lakhanpur to Jammu and Jammu to Poonch, problems of ex-servicemen, special recruitment drive for unemployed youth were also projected by the Forum members, he said.
The delegation also held detailed meeting with Dr Karan Singh who after patiently hearing the delegation expressed that he was alive to the problems.
“Dr Karan Singh supported the idea of autonomous regional councils for all the three regions of the State and working of secretariats in both the summer and winter capitals on permanent basis,” he disclosed.
“AJCSF also plans to further strengthen its units in other parts of the region and State so that the people are kept awakened and do not remain mute spectators to the negative developments which harm the interests of Jammuites including conservation of heritage, employment of youth and share of developmental funds,” he said adding that soon meetings are planned in Rajouri, Poonch, Doda Kishtwar and Kathua Districts.
A general body meeting of the AJCSF is also being called shortly, to work out activities and issue a calendar of futuristic activities in the offing, he informed.
The delegation comprised of Co convener Abdul Majid, G.A Khawaja, Dr Col Virendra K Sahi, Amanat Ali Shah, S. Peter, Mohd. Aslam Qureshi, Brig. M.S Jamwal (Retd.), Yash Paul Gupta, Anan Sharma, Neeraj Anand, Rajesh Gupta, Syed Maqbool Kazmi, Kuldip Wahi, Col. Karan Singh (Retd.), Janak Khajuria and Gambhir Dev Singh Charak who met Union Minister was also present in the press conference.
