AIIMS issue: Heads of various organisations serve one-month ultimatum to BJP

JAMMU: Lashing out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for surrendering All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) project to Kashmir, head of various organizations staged a protest reiterating the demand for the restoration of the premier health centre to Jammu region.
State President Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan, President Kranti Dal, Pritam Sharma, Chairman Jammu Adhikar Manch, Raj Kumar and District President Seva Dal, Satish Kumar along with scores of workers assembled outside the Press Club, here today and raised slogans against State as well as Central Government.
While addressing media persons, Rajiv Mahajan lamented that the NDA government like previous UPA government totally neglected and deprived Jammu region and castigated the BJP for its surrender on the issue of AIIMS in particular which was actually announced for Jammu region.
He said if State as well as Central Government fails to clear their stand of AIIMS within one month, various organization along with workers and supporters will lodge a strong agitation which will worst then the 2008 Amarnath land row agitation.
“The BJP shall have to honour its commitments by Jammuites at issues on which it has come to power in Jammu and Kashmir, otherwise the people of Jammu know how to make governments fall,” Rajiv said.
He made a fervent appeal to the people, youth, intellectuals and various other social organizations to join the crusade so that Jammu region is getting AIIMS.
