AIDS awareness by Red Ribbon Club concludes inReasi

REASI: The valedictory function of weeklong activities of Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of GDC Dharmari-Reasi was held in the college on Saturday.
Dr. T. R Sharma, Principal of the College was the Chief Guest on the occasion who stressed upon students to spread awareness among the common masses about AIDS, its prevention and causes. He also asked the students to take active involvement in this mission by acting as ‘Ambassadors of Awareness’ for society.
The title of this week long function was ‘Know Aids for No Aids’ with the purpose spreading awareness of AIDS- its causes and prevention. The activities held during this week long programme include; poster making competition on AIDs, Run for Health, awareness rally and lectures on healthy life style by Dr. T.R Sharma, Principal of the College, Dr. Chander Mohan, Asstt. Professor Zakir Hussain, Lecturer and Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed Lecturer.
Dr. Varinder Kumar Gupta, Zonal Medical Officer, Dharmari was the Chief Resource Person on this occasion. He spoke at length on medical aspects of AIDS and role of the students and society towards the disease and the patients of AIDS.
The students of the college also expressed their views on the topic.
Those who were present on the occasion include Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed, Zakir Hussain, Khalid Sajad, Parvana Bhat, Mandeep Kour, Bindu Sharma, Ganesh Dutt, Jatinder Bakshi, Mohd Iqbal and other staff members of the college.
Dr. Chander Mohan, Asst Professor English, Dr Pervaiz Ahmed, Lecturer -in- Urdu and Bindu Sharma, Teaching Assistant-in-Hindi adjudged the poster making competition. The whole programme was co-ordinated by Parvana Bhat, Lecturer -in- Sociology, GDC Dharamari.
