AG J&K wins opening match of NZ IAAD Cricket

JAMMU: Accountant General (AG) Jammu and Kashmir won their opening tie against AG Uttar Pradesh beating latter by a big margin of 109 runs in the North Zone Cricket Tournament of Indian Audit and Accounts Department, (IAAD) organised by Principal Accountant General (Audit), Punjab at DAV School ground, Chandigarh on Wednesday.
As per the reports reaching here, AG J and K won the toss and decided to bat first. They made 136 runs for nine wickets in 25 overs. The opening pair of Vikarsh Kaw (29) and Sahil Bhalwal (32) did a fine job making 64 runs for the first wicket partnership, but the rest of the side could not do well thereby lost wickets on regular intervals. Bandeep Singh (17) and Mudasir Gojri (10) were other batsmen to touch the double figure mark.
For AG UP, Dipendra Panday was most successful bowler with four wickets.
In reply, AG UP could not hold their nerves and were bundled out cheaply for 27 runs in 8.4 overs. Ankit Tiwari remained top scorer with 1 runs while five other batsmen were duck out. In fact, the AG UP innings could not survive for even an hour of the play.
Mehrajuddin bowled brilliant spell taking away three wickets without giving any score, including hattrick. Omar Alam bowled well and secured equal three wickets for 15 runs in four overs he bowled. Mudasir Gojri bagged two wickets while Rahil Singh took one.
