RAJOURI: Senior Advocate Haq Nawaz Mirza was elected President Bar Association Rajouri on Thursday. He defeated Advocate Khalid Firdose. For General Secretory, Rajesh Sharma declared successful after polling.
After his victory, Advocate Haqnawaz Mirza said he would work for welfare of the legal fraternity and play his due role for positive relation of the bar and bench. He further added that he believed in the supremacy of law and order and would continue his struggle in this regard. He thanked all the concerned members for supporting him.
It was for first time in Bar’s history that election was held for presidentship. For the last couple of years young lawyers have been demanding the democratic set up in the Court complex. The election was smooth and fair in all respects.
