Adventure camp for Sainik School cadets concludes

JAMMU: The adventure camp organised for the cadets of Sainik School Nagrota from 1st June at Sanasar (Patnitop) concluded on Thursday.
With the consent of Col Kapil Dev Koushal, Principal Sainik School Nagrota, the camp was conducted by the Sanasar Sub-Centre of Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (J and K) in order to acquaint the cadets with jungle survival techniques besides imbibing in them the spirit of adventure in pristine surroundings.
The contingent of 21 cadets of Class VIII escorted by BBR Chibber TGT (History) was flagged off by the Principal on 01 June 2016 as they proceeded to participate in this Summer Camp. The organising team of JIM and WS, Sanasar Sub-Centre engaged the cadets for fifteen days in various adventure activities including Trekking, River crossing, Rock climbing, Rappelling etc.
Lectures by expert trainers on informative and educational topics like Conservation of Environment, Flora and Fauna, Endangered Species, First Aid, Healthy Eating habits, Importance of Physical Fitness etc. were delivered from time to time during this camp. The camp was not bereft of entertainment and fun for the cadets. Various interesting solo and group events such as song and dance, role-play, story-telling were also organised in the evenings to add spice to the camp life. Cadets also had a memorable time at campfires during their stay at Sanasar.
After the culmination of the camp, the cadets returned to Sainik School Nagrota and expressed gratitude to the Principal for providing them the opportunity to participate in this adventure camp. The Principal Col KD Koushal duly appreciated the cadets for spending a good part of their vacation in an extremely useful manner in the lap of nature and also for taking keen interest in the adventure and educational activities organised during this camp.
