JAMMU: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, on Saturday visited the Commando Training Centre (CTC) in Sunjwan to inaugurate the 21-day Commando Tactics Course.
This course aims to enhance the operational capabilities of police personnel by providing rigorous training in jungle warfare and advanced commando tactics.
Accompanied by DIG JKS Range Sunil Gupta, DIG Trainings Sarah Rizvi, and S.O. to ADGP Jammu Vishal Manhas, ADGP Jain was welcomed by senior officers at CTC Sunjwan, including CO IR 14th Bn. SSP Abrar Choudhary, Deputy CO Sanjay Sharma IR 14, and a team from the 14th Bn.
During his visit, ADGP Jain inspected the facilities and interacted with the trainees, emphasizing the critical role of such specialized training in counter-insurgency and anti-terror operations.
He stressed that these courses are vital for preparing the police force to meet emerging challenges in the region.
In his inaugural address, ADGP Jain commended the dedication of the officers and the high quality of training at CTC.
He encouraged the trainees to fully engage with the course to refine their skills and tactical knowledge, underscoring the importance of both mental and physical fitness in achieving successful outcomes.
Additionally, ADGP Jain praised the CTC Sunjwan staff and trainers for their commitment to excellence. He expressed confidence that the course would significantly enhance the participants’ ability to handle complex counter-terrorism operations. To recognize the efforts of the Drill Instructors, he awarded Rs 5,000 each along with Commendation Certificates Class-I to five officials as a gesture of encouragement and motivation.
