ADGP Jammu administers pledge to personnel at Gulshan Ground

J&K Police observes Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

JAMMU: J&K Police on Monday observed National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) across Jammu Zone. The main function was held at Glushan Ground Jammu this morning where ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh took the salute of the parade and administered oath to the Police officers and Jawans. Different contingents took part in a colourful march past. Speaking on this occasion, ADGP Jammu said that this function along with other similar functions across the country have been held to pay tributes to the “Iron Man of India” Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, first Home Minister of the country who made it possible to integrate 562 States into one unit. He said that the present “Shape” of the country is because of his contribution.
To commemorate the huge contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated wherein we take the pledge for internal security, integrity and sovereignty of the county.
The sacrifice of J&K police for internal security and sovereignty of the country has been immense and with today’s pledge we will continue to move on the path of our service to the nation with more vigour to strengthen our country; he added. Similar functions were also organized in all establishments of Police districts of Jammu province and an Ekta Pledge was also taken during the programmes to preserve the unity, integrity, sovereignty and security of the nation.
