ADGP Armed reviews functioning of IRP 12th Bn, Mountain rescue team training preparedness for Yatra 2026

JAMMU: Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Police (Armed), J&K, accompanied by Vinod Kumar, DIG IR Jammu Range, on Wednesday visited Nud, Samba, to review the functioning of IRP 12th Battalion and assess the training of the J&K Police Mountain Rescue Team (MRT).

The ADG inspected the Battalion Headquarters, reviewed infrastructure and facilities, and interacted with personnel during a Darbar, where he heard their grievances and issued on-the-spot directions for redressal.
During his address, the ADG cautioned personnel against drug abuse, emphasized mandatory CCTV training, and reviewed preparedness for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026. He also inaugurated the CCTV Control Room at the Battalion Headquarters.
Jain stressed the importance of physical and mental well-being, hygienic food, and professionalism, and appreciated the dedication of personnel. He later interacted with MRT personnel undergoing specialized refresher training, inspected advanced rescue equipment, and witnessed live demonstrations of mountain rescue techniques.
He lauded the team’s high operational readiness. The ADG also inspected the Water Sports Team stationed at Mansar Lake.
