JAMMU: Additional DGP Armed J and K, L. Mohanti on Thursday promoted 323 Police Personnel of J and K Armed Police.
Among the promotes, 137 ASIs have been promoted to the rank of Sub Inspectors and 190 Head Constables have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspectors. This is for the first time that such a large number of SIs and ASIs have been promoted in J&K Armed Police in one go. With the issuance of these promotion orders, the 1997 batch of eligible Head Constables stands cleared.
Formal orders of these promotions were issued by the Addl DGP Armed, L Mohanti at Armed Police Headquarters J&K Jammu after the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) under his chairmanship found the individuals eligible and recommended them for their promotions.
The Departmental Promotion Committee comprising AIG (P) PHQ J&K, Commandant JKAP 13thBn B.A Khan, Commandant IRP 1stBn T.R Katoch, Commandant IRP 11thBn Dr Koushal Kumar Sharma, Chief Prosecuting Officer APHQ J&K Mohammad Shafi Rather, DySP (Pers) APHQ J&K Junaid Wali and Accounts Assistant APHQ J&K, Abdul Wahid examined the character rolls of the aforesaid officials and adjudged their eligibility and suitability for their inclusion in promotion lists ‘D’ and ‘E’ of J and K Armed Police .
The ADGP Armed highly appreciated the dedication and efforts put in by his Staff Officer M.Y Kichloo SSP and his team including DySP (Pers) Junaid Wali and In-charge CRC Section APHQ, ASI Ghulam Nabi Bhat for quick collection, scrutiny of huge records, preparation of data thereof enabling the DPC to finalise the promotion process smoothly and in a shortest possible time.
The ADGP Armed congratulated the promoted officers and extended his warm greetings to their families. He expressed the hope that the promoted officials will continue to work with the same zeal and zest and discharge their assigned duties honestly and professionally upholding the sanctity of public Service.
137 ASIs have been promoted as Sub Inspectors in J&K Armed Police vide APHQ order No.118 of 2017 Dated 9th February 2017. Whereas 190 Head Constables have been promoted as ASIs in J and K Armed Police vide APHQ orders No.119, 121 and 122 of 2017 dated 9th February 2017. In addition to afore said 190 Head Constables, 10 Head Constables have been promoted as ASIs subject to qualifying of pre-promotion course by them.
