BILLAWAR: Expressing his anguish over decision of the State Government to abandon prestigious Artificial Lake project on the river Tawi, Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and Congress leader Thakur Balbir Singh on Monday regretted that various projects, which were started during previous regimes, are either abandoned or delayed by the present dispensation without any reason.
Winding up his three-day tour in Billawar and Kathua Assembly segments, Thakur Balbir Singh lamented that since formation of this regime developmental activities came to stand still in Jammu region due to lack of vision among BJP ministers. “What to say of starting new projects to attract tourists in Jammu region, BJP ministers have even failed to complete the prestigious projects which were started by previous government”, he observed and mentioned that future of Mubarak Mandi Heritage and Bahu-Fort Ropeway Projects also hangs in balance due to casual approach of BJP ministers.
Singh, who addressed series of meetings at Dramani, Durung, Malti, Dewal, Dharamkot, Khadhakalyal, Amuwala and other areas, said that Jammu has huge tourism potential but present government is not giving due attention to this region.
He said that PDP-BJP alliance is rudderless arrangement of two parties- having diametrically opposite ideologies, just to enjoy power by ignoring peoples wishes.
