JAMMU: The Airlines Team comprised of Ashutosh (Spice Jet) and Kartikeya (GoAir) clinched the badminton team event which was part of the annual sports meet of Airports Authority of India (AAI) held at Civil Airport Jammu, here.
In the final, Ashutosh and Kartikey duo defeated the team of AAI comprising Gautam Meena and Sunil Khajuria 2-1.
In the meantime, the Carom title was bagged by AAI team comprising of Prem Prabhakar anad Tushar Dixhit, who beat their opponents, Abhay and Babrit from Jet Airways.
The Chess title went to Amit of AAI, who trounced Ravinder of Spice Jet. Similarly, in quiz the AAI team (Gautam Meena, Mukesh, IP Singh, Tushar Dixhit, Jayant, Bharat, Sayad, Sunny Bali, Anil Kumar and Kirpal Singh) emerged winner beating the opponent from Jet Airways.
In table tennis, Deepak Walia of AAI defeated Tushar Khandka (Assistant Command CRPF) in the final.
Now, the valedictory of this week-long sports meet shall take place tomorrow as part of the Republic Day function.
