JAMMU: Hosts Singh Cricket Club on Thursday sailed into the final of the ongoing Eighth Pawan Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Government Higher Secondary School Ground, here.
In the semifinal, played today, Singh Club trounced Little Flower School Akhnoor by two wickets. Earlier, batting first, Little Flower set a target of 160 runs for nine wickets. Vinod played fine innings of 32-ball 46 runs while Deepak and Shanty contributed 29 and 23 runs respectively. Atul added 20 runs.
For Singh Club, Sourav Singh claimed two wickets while Sham Singh, Sunil and Farooq shared apiece each.
Later, chasing the target, it was not easy
going for formidable side of Singh Club, who
could overhaul the opponent total on the third delivery of the last over of the innings losing eight wickets.
Sony played match winning knock of unbeaten 61 coming off 42 deliveries. Chandan (28), Sourav Singh (22) and Jimmy (15) were other main
scorers. Yubby took most of the three wickets for Little Flower while Parveen and Rajinder shared two wickets each.
Sonu was later named Man of the Match. Vikas Bali, Deepak Magotra and Dayal Singh were Umpires while Ashwani Mangotra was Scorer in today’s semifinal.
