DOUBLE DRAWL OF LAND COMPENSATION; SKIMS, Revenue officials land in Vigilance net

JAMMU: The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) on Tuesday registered FIR against the officers/officials of Revenue Department, Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIKS) Soura and the beneficiary for the double drawl of compensation of the same land acquired by the Institute in 1982.
The SVO registered a case under Prevention of Corruption Act against officers and officials of SKIMS and Revenue Department and beneficiaries on the basis of letter No. SIM-229/Estt/Land/2015-2013-2109 dated 10th July, 2015 of Estates Officer SKIMS Soura addressed to Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar and a copy among others to State Vigilance Organisation J&K as well, alleging therein that beneficiary of the land, measuring one Kanal and thirteen Marlas falling under Khasra No. 435 of Estate Zonnimar was compensated against the acquisition of aforesaid land way back in June 1982 through District Collector Land Acquisition Srinagar.
The letter further revealed that successors of late Malla Sultan have in active league and connivance with Revenue officers and officials again processed and obtained the compensation for the aforesaid land through District Collector land Acquisition in 2013, as such double payment for the same piece of land.
FIR 8/16 under Section 5(2) J&K P.C. Act Svt.2006 and Sections 120-B, 467, 468 and 471 RPC has been registered in Police Station Vigilance Organisation Kashmir against officers and officials of SKIMS and Revenue Department besides beneficiaries regarding the double payment to land measuring one Kanal and eight Marlas under Khasra No. 435 made dishonestly, fraudulently and by mutilating the relevant records by the officers and officials of SKIMS in connivance with the concerned Revenue officers and officials and the beneficiaries in 2013 which resulted in the conferment of undue benefit on the beneficiaries with the corresponding loss to the state exchequer.
