725 booths set up for polio immunization in Kupwara

KUPWARA: Over 1.3 lakh infants up to age of five years would be administered polio vaccine in Kupwara District on 18th January.
The information was given in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara to review the arrangements being put in place for administering Pulse Polio Immunization in district Kupwara.
The Chief Medical Officer, Kupwara informed that 725 immunization booths have been established for which 1,259 health workers, 883 ASHA’s, 737 Anganwari Workers, 81 NGO’s, besides 161 supervisors have been deployed.
Advance health teams are being despatched to Machil, Keran, Jumagunas, Budnambal and border areas and the Immunization would be continued upto January 20th. The necessary training to the staff has been already imparted at various places in the district in this regard.
