Blue Star Sunderbani wins by 8 wkts

AKHNOOR: Sailing on brilliant unbeaten innings from Rohit and Vicky, Blue Star Sunderbani on Monday registered a big eight-wicket win against Young Star Club Jammu to qualify for the quarterfinals of the ongoing Sixth Pawan Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Singh Cricket Club at Government Higher Secondary School Ground, here.
While Rohit made 50 not out, Vicky contributed 23 runs to the total. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Young Star set a target of 129 runs for seven wickets, which, in reply, Blue Star chased in 17.2 overs losing only two wickets.
Sahil played superb innings of 65 runs while Sarthik and Mohit contributed 16 and 14 runs respectively. For Blue Star, Negi took two wickets, followed by Sumit, Shanker and Sudershan, who shared apiece each.
Later, Blue Star chased the total making 133 runs for two wickets in 17.2 overs. Rohit and Vicky remained unbeaten at 50 and 23 runs respectively while Vishal added valuable 33 runs. Raghav and Shamshudin took the wickets.
For his unbeaten half century, Rohit was named Man of the Match. Vikas Bali and Suresh were Umpires while Lucky maintained the score in today’s pre-quarterfinal.
