KATHUA: 68th Republic Day celebrations were held in the premises of Govt Hr. Sec. School Budhi(Kathua) in which Principal Naresh Sharma hoisted the National Flag in presence of former Sarpanchs of Budhi (South) and Budhi (north) Shiv Ram Sharma and Angrez Chand respectively among other prominent citizens of the locality.
Besides the heavy rainfall, students of Govt. HSS Budhi, R N Tagore Public School Budhi, RMC HSS Budhi, KG Public School Nagrota, Powen Jyot Public School Budhi and other surrounding schools participated in the function. Principal took the salute of march past and expressed his pleasure and gratitude to the people who attend the function.
Satish Chandel Sr. Lecturer compered the programme and presented the vote of thanks to the presented dignitries. Others who present in the function were Om Parkash, Haqiqat Raj, Ram Chand, Som Raj, Rameshwer Dutt and staff and heads of various schools.
In continuity of the programmes of 68th Republic Day celebrations, District Congress Committee celebrated the function with enthusiasm at District Office. District Congress Committee President former MLC Subash Chander Gupta gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, hoisted the Tri-color flag.
Ex President Municipal Council Kathua Naresh Sharma, Karan Bhagat, Dr Parmjeet, Baljeet Singh, Sonu Singh, Ashok Kumar, Anant Ram Dogra, Jugal Kishore Bali, K C Bhagat, Ramesh Kumar, Parveen Kumar, Murari Lal, and dozens of others were present on the occasion.
The R.S. Golden Higher Secondary School, Kharote Morh, Kathua celebrated Republic Day function in the school premises.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua was the Chief Guest while Dr. Yash Paul Sharma, Professor, Govt. Degree College for Women, Kathua was the Special Guest and Kuldeep Gupta, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School ( Boys) Kathua was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

KATRA: The 68th Republic Day was celebrated with traditional fervour and patriotism at Katra.
The main function at Katra was held at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, where Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, hoisted the Tricolor. Sahu gave away prizes to the students who were adjudged best in the march-past and presentation of cultural programme.
Among those present on the occasion were Dr. Piyush Singla and Dr. M. As part of the Republic Day celebrations, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, CEO, SMVDSB, also hoisted the Tricolour at a function held at the Central Office of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at Katra.
UDHAMPUR: Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Govt. of India celebrate 68th Republic Day at NYK Office Udhampur. The function started with flag hoisting ceremony by District Youth Coordinator Nissar Ahmed Butt.
BISHNAH: NGO, Third Eye Anti Crime Team Chairman Sham Lal Gupta along with Canara Bank Association hoisted National Flag at Zero Line Border Area.
Sham Lal Gupta welcomed Gen Secretary of Canara Bank Association G.V Manimaran and State Regional Secretary Sandeep Gupta and appreciated his step for choosing to hoist National Flag at Zero Line Border.

BHADARWAH: Despite hostile weather and heavy snowfall in most parts of Chenab Valley, Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and traditional fervour as hundreds of students, locals, officers of civil and police administration besides jawans of police, paramilitary forces and NCC cadets gathered at different District, Sub-Division and Tehsil Headquarters to celebrate the Republic Day.
On the occasion, Chief Guest SDM Bhadarwah Mohd Anwar Bandey took the salute from the contingents of Police ,CRPF, Armed Police,NCC cadets and students from different schools and colleges after unfurling the Tricolour.
On the occasion Tehsildar Bhadarwah Masood Ahmed, ASP Bhadarwah Sargun Shukla, SDPO Bhadarwah Sardar Sajjad Ahmed Khan,DFO Vivek Verma, ZEO Bhadarwah Pritam Singh, PET Abdul Haq, Arif Rana and others also participated.
Kishtwar: The 68th Republic day was celebrated across the Kishtwar District with great patriotic fervour despite rain and heavy snowfall.
The main function was organised at DC Office Complex Mini Sectrait Kishtwar as the venue was changed in the last moment due to bad weather conditions.
On the occasion Chief Guest, Minister of State For Transport Sunil Sharma took the salute from the contingents of JKP, IRP, CISF, FPF, NCC Cadets of Degree College and Boys of HSS after unfurling the tricolour.
The District Development Commissionter Kishtwar, Ghulam Nabi Balwan, SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir, army officials of 9 Sector RR Kishtwar, various other district and sectoral officers, government employees, school children and prominent citizens participated in the function.
Doda: Despite hostile weather conditions, the 68th Republic Day was celebrated in the Sports Stadium Doda where Chief Guest MoS Priya Sethi hoisted the Tricolor and after inspection of parade took salute of 22 march past contingents drawn from the JKP, IR, CRPF ,NCC, FPF, Home Guard and school children of Doda area.
DCC Doda Bhupinder Kumar, SSP Doda Zahid Naseem Manhas and other officers/officials were present on the occasion.
Similar programmes regarding 68th Republic Day celebrations were also reported from Marwah,Padder, Drabshalla,Gandoh, Bhalessa, Batote, Banihal, Gool and other areas of Chenab Valley with huge participation of officers and officials beside students of respective educational institutions.
RAJOURI: Like other parts of the State, 68th Republic Day was celebrated at HS Hathal with great pump and show in spite of heavy rain. The National Flag was hoisted by well known Retired Master Jasbir Singh of Salehri. Amjad Khan and Amita were stage secretary. Vinod Kumari, Rattan Lal, Rajinder Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Tilak Raj master, Varinder Kumar PET, Bharat Bushan, Ranjeet Kumar, Sunil Kumar. Garima Sharma, Jyoti Devi teachers were also present in Republic Day celebration.
Meanwhile Army Goodwil Public School Rajouri celebrated 68th Republic Day with patriotic fervour in which GOC 25 Inf Div was the Chief Guest who hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Commander 25 Arty Brigade and other Army and Civil officers.
The school children presented colourful cultural programme highlighting the patriotism and evergreen concept of unity and diversity.
Thanamandi remained most affected area during militancy and no political party ever celebrated any national Day in the area. It was for the first time in the history of Thanamandi that Bhartiya Janta Party organised Republic Day function at Town Hall where Member Legislative Council Advocate Vibodh Gupta unfurled National Flag and addressed locals. The programme was organised by Abdul Gani Shawl Mandal President of Bhartiya Janta Party Thanamandi in which local Muslims participated with great pump and show.
Meanwhile Mandal President of Bhartiya Janta Party Thanamandi Abdul Gani Shawl thanked people of Thanamandi for participating the National event organised by their party. He said that National Day is important for all communities and Muslims of this area celebrate it great fervour. He said that they have never supported anti national elements and always opposed the anti national policies of the separatists. He appealed Muslims of Thanamandi area to come under the ambit of BJP for development of the area. Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Ruksar Bhat, Dr.Bashir, Dr. Missr, Zahid, Ch.Manzoor Ashraf Bhat, Naiem Ganie, Ch.Javid, Maqsood Sabri, Shabir Dana.
NOWSHERA: 68th Republic Day was also celebrated with full pump and show at GMS Pind Narian located in a hilly and remote area of Distt Rajouri. Despite heavy rain and lack of facilities in the School, the headmaster Savita Kumari with the cooperation of all staff members, Panchs, Sarpanch and prominent villagers managed to organise the function in the school successfully. Besides, three other schools including GMS Pind, GPS Kallar and GPS Chowki Kotera also participated in the function. The Sarpanch of the area Retd Captain Jaswant Singh presided over the function and also hoisted the National Flag.
The main programme for celebration of Republic Day was held in Government Higher secondary School (Boys) Nowshera in which SDM Harbans Lal Sharma was the Chief Guest who unfurled the tricolour.
He said that we should not forget the martyrs who laid their lives for the cause of nation.
On the occasion of 68th Republic Day,the Kalal Unit of Rashtriya Rifles organised the functions in the Government schools at Langar, Ganaya and Dabbar in which National Flag was hoisted and cultural programmes were presented.
The Republic Day celebration was held in the extreme border Tehsil of Quila Darhal in which a large number of border villagers attended the function. The National Flag was hoisted by BDO Quila Darhal Kul Bhushan Sharma and sweets were also distributed.
