JAMMU: The 640th Birthday of Guru Ravi Dass was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across the Jammu region on Friday with devotees of Guru organising religious functions in Guru Ravi Dass Temples.
The main function was organised by All J and K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha at Ravi Dass Temple, Krishna Nagar, here under the presidentship of Piran Ditta. Parkash Divas of Shree Guru Ravi Dass was also celebrated in whole Jammu province at district and Tehsil level by the Branch Sabhas with full enthusiasm. Rich tributes were paid to Guru through Bhajans by children and renowed singers Dev Dildar and Party and Akash Sangral. Milkhi Ram Basson on the occasion was the Chief Guest and Piran Ditta President presided over the function. They highlighted for teachings of Guru Ravi Dass Ji. The function was assisted M.L Banalia, General Secretary who also threw light on the mission of Guru Ravi Dass. He appealed to the Sangat to go by the teachings of Guru Ravi Dass.
Outstanding school going children and candidates of community who cleared the IAS recently were honoured by the Sabha.
The prominent person of the community who spoke on the occasion were C.L Banal, Tulsi Dass Langeh, S.S Basson, Raj Kumar Raja, Mulkh Raj, Banarsi Dass Digra, Mangal Dass, Darshan Angral, Raj Paul Hans, Deepak Bangotra, Rattan Lal and H.L Angral.
