62nd National School Games U-19 Boys Football;J&K loses to Rajasthan, little hopes of QFs berth

JAMMU: Hosts Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday lost in their second group outing when they were beaten by Rajasthan 2-1 in a group-E match of the ongoing 62nd National School Games Under-19 Boys Football, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), at GGM Science College Ground, here.
Displaying extraordinary skills, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh defeated their rivals convincingly and looked to qualify for the knock-out stages of quarterfinals.
Earlier, Rajasthan defeated Jammu and Kashmir by two goals to one. Though J and K took first lead through Sahil but could not resist the opponent onslaught after the breather and suffered two back to back goals coming in the 55th and 59th minute through Martand Raina and Mohit respectively.
In another scheduled match at GGM Science College Ground, Chhattisgarh blanked Vidya Bharti 8-0.
Chandra scored four goals, including a hat-trick, while Gourav, Pardesi, Ujeet and Partap netted a goal each.
In their second outing, at University of Jammu Ground, Chhattisgarh got better of Uttrakhand beating latter 6-1. For Chhattisgarh, Gansham scored three goals while Pardeep netted two and Ujeet one. Ritik reduced the margin from Uttrakhand.
Other (League) Results: Rajasthan beat CBSE 3-0; KVS beat Haryana 1-0; Madhya Pradesh drew against Himachal Pradesh 1-1; NVS defeated Daman Diu 3-0; UP beat Kerela 1-0; Jharkhand blanked Daman Diu 4-0; Chandigarh trounced Karnataka 1-0; NVS outplayed Delhi 1-0; Maharashtra drew against KVS 1-1; Tamil Nadu defeated West Bengal 1-0; Tamil Nadu blanked DAV 4-0; Kerela beat Andhra Pradesh 11-0.
