JAMMU: Fifth Christmas Soccer Championship will be held from 12th December, 2016 at Parade Ground, here. This year slogan of the tournament is ‘Be Healthy-Don’t Do Drugs’.
The decision in this regard was taken during a meeting among the officials of Christian Sports Association and J and K Football Association.
A total of 16 teams of the State including four from Srinagar and 12 from Jammu Province are participating in the championship, which shall be played on knock out basis.
The officials who attended the meeting include Fr. Kuriakose, Rajesh Gill, Kuldeep Singh, S.M Gill, Surinder Singh, Mohan Lal, Asif Gill, Yousuf Don, Sunny Gill, Feastus Sotra, David Masih, Bharat Bhushan and Sardari Lal.
Fr. Kuriakose informed that the opening match shall be played between Shaheen FC and Young Muneer Srinagar at 12:15 PM.
Minister of Youth Services and Sports, Sunil Kumar Sharma will be the Chief Guest whereas IGP Jammu, Danesh Rana will be the Guest of Honour in the inaugural ceremony, informed by the Organizing Secretary of the Championship.
For the smooth conduct of the event, Disciplinary Committee comprising of Shiekh Mehmood, Rajesh Gill, David Burat, Ramesh Chander, Mohan Lal and Victor Sotra and Protest Committee including Surinder Singh Bunty, S.M Gill, Kuldeep Singh, Feastus Sotra and Asif Gill are constituted.
