57 bovines rescued, 7 smugglers arrested, 4 vehicle seized

UDHAMPUR: Police on Thursday foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling in which 57 bovines were rescued and seven bovine smugglers were arrested under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kud and Police Station Udhampur.
According to a report, based on a reliable information, a party of Police Station Kud led by SHO Police Station Kud, Inspector Raghubir Singh laid a surprise Naka at NHW near Kud in the wee hours and intercepted Truck bearing registration No.JK02AE/4464 and JK02AT/8215 which were on their way from Jammu towards Kashmir.
During the thorough search of the Vehicle, 36 bovines were found packed inside these vehicles. The accused smugglers namely Bashir Ahmed son of Gulam Mohd resident of Banihal, Abdul Rashid son of Qutab Din resident of Muthi Jammu, Mukhtyar Ahmed son of Abdul Khan resident of R.S Pura and Saraj Ahmed son of Abdul Majid resident of Banihal were arrested on the spot and bovines rescued. The vehicles used were also seized.
A case under FIR No. 43/15 and 44/15 section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Kud and further investigation of the case is going on.
In an another incident of two separate cases, based on a reliable information, a police party of Police Station Udhampur led by SHO, Inspector Arjun Singh Chib laid a surprise Naka at NHW near Jakhani and intercepted Truck bearing registration No.JK05D/9601 and Tata Mobile bearing registration No. JK02AX/2702 which were on their way from Jammu towards Kashmir. During the thorough search of the vehicles, 21 bovines were found packed inside these vehicles. The accused smugglers namely Ashiq Hussain son of Aisha Mohd resident of Darsoo, Mudasir Ahmed Genai son of Abdul Khalid Genai resident of Acchabal Sopore and Murseem son of Gulam Mohd Rishi resident of Rafiabad Baramula were arrested on the spot and bovines rescued. The vehicles used were also seized.
A case under FIR No. 201/15 and 199/15 section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
