50 kanal forest land retrieved, 7 booked

NOWSHERA: The anti- encroachment drive conducted by a team of Nowshera Forest Range cleared 50 Kanals of government land from encroachments and booked seven people for various violations under relevant Forest Act.
The operations were conducted under the supervision of Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri and DFO Nowshera led by Range Forest Officer Nowshera on Monday.
During the drive, two tin sheds and one cattle shed was removed from the spot and 25 Kanal forest land was retrieved from the custody of one Mohd Farooq son of Mohammed Qasim resident of Dhallian Rajal. The operation was carried out jointly by Forest Department with assistance of Police, Forest Protection Force and Revenue Department in presence of 1st Class Magistrate.
In another operation led by the team of forest officials of Lamberi Range of Nowshera Forest Division about 25 Kanals of land was cleared from the encroachers.
The operation was led by Range Forest Officer Lamberi under direct supervision of Conservator of Forest West Circle Headquarter Rajouri and Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera. The team retrieved land from the occupation of seven encroachers at Rajal, Garan Pain and Ghawan area of Lamberi Range.
The forest officials when contacted said that the encroachers were trying to convert the land into fields and nearly 25 Kanals area falling under compartment 157/N, 10/N and 12/N of Lamberi Range was retrieved back and seven persons booked under relevant Forest Act.
