BATOTE: Officials of Forest Department seized 50 deodar scants from a truck and arrested the cleaner however driver of the truck absconded from the spot.
According to a report, officials of Forest Department under the supervision of DFO Batote, Zahid Mughal stopped a truck bearing registration number JK14A 8940 owned by Mohammed Latief Lone resident of Botate and found it loaded with deodar timber.
The owner/driver after seeing the officials fled from the spot , however cleaner namely Vishal Sharma resident of Thopal Batote was arrested and taken into custody.
Two days remand has been granted by the Mobile Magistrate Batote for further investigation. FIR under relevant section has been lodged.
