LG Sinha, others express grief

SRINAGAR: Eight members of a family, including five children, were killed when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Anantnag district on Saturday, officials said.
A policeman, two women and five children aged between six and 16 are among the dead, they said.
The victims were travelling from Kishtwar towards Marwah via the Sinthan Top when their vehicle Maruti Swift car bearing number JK03H-9017 skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Daksum, officials said.
The family of eight died on the spot, they said.
The deceased were identified as Imtiyaz Rather, 45, son of Ghulam Rasool Rather, Afroza Begum, 40, wife of Imtiyaz Ahmad Rather, Reshma, 40, wife of Majid Ahmad, Areeba Imtiyaz, 12, daughter of Imtiyaz Ahmad, Aniya Jan, 10, daughter of Imtiyaz Ahmad, Abaan Imtiyaz, 6, daughter of Imtiyaz, Musaib Majid, 16, son of Majid Ahmad, and Mushail Majid, 8, son of Majid Ahmad.
Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has expressed grief over the tragic road accident in Daksum, Anantnag.
In a condolence message, the Lt Governor has said: “I am deeply saddened to learn about the loss of precious lives in an unfortunate road accident in Daksum, Anantnag today. My thoughts and prayers are with bereaved family members during this hour of grief. I have issued instructions to the District Administration to provide all necessary assistance to the affected family”.
Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the tragic road accident in Daksum. “I am deeply grieving over this tragedy. It is painful to learn that among the eight deceased members of a single family, there are two women and five children aged between 6 and 16. I find myself at a loss for words to express my grief and sorrow over this tragedy. May Almighty Allah grant the departed souls the highest place in Jannah. And, may Allah give the much needed patience to the kith and kin of the victims to bear the pain of this inconsolable and irreparable loss”, Bukhari said in a condolence message. Meanwhile, Apni Party’s District President Anantnag Abdul Rahim Rather has expressed deep shock and grief over the loss of lives in this tragic road accident.
