5 bovines rescued, smuggler held in Pouni

POUNI: Police on Sunday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing five bovines and arresting a smuggler, however two managed to escape from the spot.
According to a report, a specific information was received by police that some persons are on way along with bovines towards Kashmir without any legal permission.
On this, a police team headed by Mohan Lal, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi along with Inspector J.J Bhagat SHO Police Station Pouni laid a Naka near Kothian and rescued five bovines from the possession of the accused persons.
The accused persons identified as Mohd Majeed son of Sania resident of Kothian Tehsil Pouni District Reasi (working at Katra as Ponywala) and his other two associates namely Mohd Mushtaq son of Mohd Kazam resident of Kothian Tehsil Pouni and Mohd Zaffar son of Mohd Altaf resident of Beulian Tehsil Pouni managed to escaped by taking advantage of darkness.
The accused person namely Mohd Majeed was arrested. A case vide FIR No. 21/2016 under section 188 RPC, 03/PCA Act was registered at Police Station Pouni.
