49 candidates recommended for selection against Class-IV posts without interview

 STATE TIMES NEWS
ANANTNAG: Doing away with the interview process, the District Administration, Anantnag on Friday recommended, purely on the basis of merit, 49 candidates for Class-IV jobs in the district. The selection for these posts was pending for the past 10 years.
Pertinently, Prime Minister recently announced that selection for lower cadre posts should be done without any interview process.
The tentative selection list of the 49 selected candidates will be recommended to the General Administration Department (GAD) for issuance of formal orders after completion of requisite formalities.
Applicants have been given 21 days time for filing claims and objections regarding the tentative selection list.
For the 56 posts, 17,860 applications were received, which were then fed to computer-generated transparent selection process having minimal human intervention, thereby making the list free from any discrepancy. Tentative selection list was formulated for 49 posts only as for rest of the posts, no applications were received from reserved categories.
For the computer based selection process, weight-age of points was allotted to different qualifications as per the existing standards and the merit list was automatically generated by computer software having no scope of error.
The posts were to be filled in the departments including Agriculture Production, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Forest, PHE, R&B, Revenue, RDD, School Education and Tourism.
