SRINAGAR: Four MBA students from a university in south Kashmir have been suspended for allegedly spraying a chemical in classroom due to which eight students, including six girls, fainted, officials said on Thursday.
An official of the university said last week, eight students of MBA first semester at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) at Awantipora in Pulwama district had fainted after inhaling some chemical.
He said while four students were given first aid at the university and discharged, four others–all girls–were taken to a hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
The university had constituted a committee to probe the incident, the official said, adding that strict action would be taken against those involved.
“Preliminary inquiry has found that four students were involved in the matter. They have been directed not to enter the university till completion of the probe,” the official added.
